The following is a guideline of what to bring on a camp and may be adjusted for seasonal and activity reasons.
Packing the Rucksack
We expected all members of the Scout group to travel to and from camps and activities in uniform; Shirt/Jumper and group necker. Unless otherwise stated.
The following kit is in addition to the clothing being worn to the site. All kit should be packed in a rucksack (65 litre - 80 litre size recommended / large holdall and a day sack). Roll mat may be secured to the outside of the bag / carried separately in case of need. It's a good idea to put a bin bag or rubble sack in the rucksack first for extra waterproofing.
Sleeping Equipment
Sleeping Bag (minimum 2 season) and optional travel pillow
Roll Mat (foam or self-inflating)
Camp Blanket (optional)
Clothing
Warm hat & sun hat (a warm hat is useful when sleeping in shelters even in the summer months)
Waterproof jacket & trousers
Warm jumper / hoodies / fleeces (at least 2 for a weekend, 5-6 for a week in addition to any worn to site)
T-shirts / shirts / thin long sleeved tops at least 2 for a weekend, 5-6 for a week in addition to any worn to site)
Long trousers / jogging bottoms (at least 2 for a weekend, 5-6 for a week in addition to any worn to site)

Pyjamas (or additional t-shirt and shorts)
Underwear
Socks (at least 3 - 4 for a weekend, 10+ for a week) Scouts have a tendency to go through a lot of socks at camp
Extras
Personal wash kit (soap, shampoo, toothbrush & paste, comb / hairbrush & flannel)

Suncream, optional insect repellent

Please consider the following
Optional named folding penknife - handed into the leader on arrival. No fixed blades
Any prescribed medicines in a named bag - handed into the leader on arrival
Scouts should pack their own bags (so they know what they have brought)
Parent involvement is expected to ensure the Scouts DO NOT bring mobile phones, iPads, electronic games or other electronic devices - these are easily damaged, dropped or soaked & we cannot tale responsibility for these items.
We ask Scout not to bring sweets / snacks & fizzy drinks. All food will be provided
If you need buy any of the outdoor equipment, many camping shops offer a 10% discount to Scouts on showing your group necker. Such as Blacks, Go Outdoors, Cotswolds Outdoor.
